  HI Losingit - I know what you are talking about. I know how you feel inside - a lot of fear. Fear is what abusers want to put in your head, because it makes THEM strong and powerful. Fear is paralyzing! Makes you feel like not moving but just staying as still as you can! I agree with what everyone has said here, and Laverite is so right - it would help you to read what he says over and over.

  HappyDad, that happens often after you've lived a good many years like you and me, and it's not strange. We've developed lots of associations in our memories - for me it's Peter Paul and Mary songs. Take me back to when I had my whole life ahead of me, and could have chosen NOT to throw 30 years away on the WT and ruin my kids' lives as well as my own.

  i am not sure how you all feel as we all left at different times for different reasons.... but this new bible seems to have put some final nails into a coffin that was once my jw life.

  the religion is so far and so different to the religion i grew up in that it has become something i feel no affiliation with anymore, no bond, no shared ideas or even sentimental views.

  different teachings on when the end is coming.

  OK - I've had it - My letter to the KH

  the whole time i lived in colorado, i had the dubs come by once and leave a tract.

  but since moving to california, they are at my door so often i asked them to put me on the "do not call" list.

  this did not stop them, in fact i have asked four times, plus once i called the kingdom hall and left a message, they still come, the last time this past saturday.

  The real reason for the push to get children baptized.......

  i think the real reason is that many when they are in their teens and able to start thinking for themselves end up leaving by the time they get out of home, never baptized, and still continuing assocation with their family.

  the wt doesn't like this loophole, so they are hoping to get them baptised before their teen years so that if they wake up and decide to leave, they will be dfed.

  hoping to keep them trapped and be trapped before they understand the religion.

  Baptized teenage boys peeking in their stepsister's window. Not exactly a great witness for his WT beliefs. But his mother defends him. "Boys will be boys." But I thought he was so theocratic and Christian. Maybe those are just synonyms for hypocrite.

  What level of IQ does one have, to beleive " TRUTH " changes. ? or old "Light " old truths " New Light " new truths " ?

  okay, i never went to university , or had a college education, though i`m damn sure that "truth" is "truth" and it never changes.. if you" beleived "something was the truth in the past and now found out it was not correct , you cant say it was an" old " truth ,it must have been wrong/false reasoning in the first place......so it was never really the truth.. sure you can be aware of a "new" truth something you never knew beforehand , though whether you knew it or not ,it has always been a truth.

  example:the earth was the centre of the universe ,beleived as a truth.........that beleif was false , it was not an old truth.. if their was something you beleived before as true and you now find it wasnt true , then it was false / untrue .. their is no such thing as an "old truth " and a "new truth" that is apparently accepted by jehovahs witnesses .. if jehovahs witnesses were as honest as they profess , then they would acknowledge when they make adjustments to their beleifs/doctrines that they were wrong in their initial understanding of said scriptures instead of passing it off as old truths or new light.. i was a witness for 33 years before it became obvious something was just not right with this religion and it took another 10-12 years before i found this site , that set me free.

  so i ask , is it an iq level ?

  Wondering if something was said at this big do that gave "pillars" the idea to call inactive ones and try to talk up the org-y borg-y? This one person who has not had anything to say to me for a couple years, and turned her head the last time i saw her in a store, called me this afternoon. I answered the first call and said it was not a convenient time to talk. There were three more calls after that, but i didn't answer the phone.
